Q: What prompted you guys to write this?
A: We were in the U.S. Army (huah!) while “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell“ was a hot topic
of conversation. I guess that is partly why this song just popped out one day while
we were trying to write an over-
Q: Isn’t this unusual for a country song?
A: Only sort of. It’s really a typical love triangle, with cheatin’, drinkin’, lovin’ and breakin’ up. Maybe you could say it’s “alternative” country.
Q: Are you poking fun?
A: No. We’re not poking anything. We’re not making a statement, either. We don’t like to make statements – we’re not that intellectual. It’s just a story.
